ITHACA, N.Y. -- The fourth-ranked softball team swept a doubleheader against Nazareth by scores of 8-0 and 12-0. Both games ended after six innings. Sophomore pitcher
Jessie Derbyshire (Upper Dublin/Dresher, Pa. ) struck out a career-high 10 batters while tossing four hitless innings to record the win in game one against the Golden Flyers.

Erica Cutspec (Fort Plain/Fort Plain) led off the first inning with a single and scored on junior outfielder Amanda Kowalsick’s
(Riverhead/Jamesport) double to left center field with the only run the Bombers would need in game one. Ithaca put the game out of reach with five runs in the second inning and plated two more runs in the bottom of the sixth for the 8-0 final.

Nicole Cade (Beaverton/Portland, Ore.) allowed just one hit with four strikeouts over the first two innings.
The Bombers got off to a quick start in game two, jumping out to a 3-0 in the first inning. Ithaca added two runs in the second and one run in the third to take a 6-0 lead before exploding for six runs in the top of the sixth, five of which came with two outs in the inning.

Stephanie Wyman (Jefferson Township/Lake Hopatcong, N.J.) went 2-for-4 with two doubles and a season-high three RBI. Senior outfielder
Jenn Marro (Bethlehem Central/Delmar) was 2-for-2 with one run scored and one RBI. Senior catcher
Jackie McCorry (Villa Joseph Marie/Hatboro, Pa.) was 1-for-1 with two RBI and a run scored.
Four pitchers combined on the shutout in game two, allowing a total of four hits and registering seven strikeouts. Freshman pitcher
Brook Kithcart (Minisink Valley/Slate Hill) allowed one hit with two strikeouts in the third and fourth innings to pickup the first win of her collegiate career. Junior pitcher
Carly Myers (Claremont Secondary/Victoria, British Columbia) allowed just one hit with three strikeouts in the first two innings.

Alyssa Brook (Monmouth Regional/Tinton Falls, N.J.) and sophomore pitcher
Gaby Flores (Monte Maria/Guatemala City, Guatemala) held Nazareth scoreless in the fifth and sixth innings, respectively.
The Bombers return to action Tuesday when they host an Empire 8 doubleheader against Alfred at 3 p.m.
